Fernando`s Mexican Restaurant in Maui

Good food. Happy hour is 3-6 and the lady said that the computer system shuts it off at 6pm on the dot...we sat down 5 minutes till and she said no happy hour for us. That was kinda lame. Good service other than that. Food was good. Salsa was VERY different t than the salsa we are used to. Tomatillo was hot and there was a mild salsa that was pink and kind of sweet??

Always a good stop here on Maui at a few different convenient locations. If you need a bite to eat or a cold beer this is your spot. The food is great and about as authentic as American Mexican restraunts go..however it's delicious and super affordable considering everything here on island is extra $pendy since goods are mostly shipped here.

The flan here is amazing! We had crispy tacos and enchiladas which were good. The service was good & friendly.

Service was beyond excellent, that sweet girl was so attentive. Food was good at best. Mexacin pizza was on a peice of naan bread, not what I expected. Taco salad didn't come with dressing or salsa. Drinks were good. Might come back again during happy hour for the drinks.

Used to be a very very good place to go for happy hour drinks and good food. But the past 2 times our wait time for our food was so long. Our waiter never checked on us. And by the time our food got to us it wasn't hot. Couldn't get our waiter's attention for a refill. I hope they get their stuff together.

We have seen this restaurant at the mall for several years and finally decided to try it out. There was only one other couple in the restaurant when we went there for lunch which usually is not a good sign. The waitress was just so-so but the food was good. The biggest complaint is the prices. They were really overpriced. There were no lunch specials and no lunch menu which most Mexican restaurant have. A soft drink was around $3.75, so I opted for just drinking water. We decided to shared one meal due to the high prices, which I am sure did not make the waitress happy. We got the steak fajita and it was good , but we only were given 3 very small tortillas. I understand just getting three for one meal, I guess, is an okay amount but it was the size of them that I thought was ridiculous. Very very small. Overall, we just felt that the prices are way out of line with what you get. We will not be back due to this. There are better Mexican restaurants on Maui with better prices.

Love this place. I always stop in before heading to the movies. Monique always treats me right. My favorite drink here is not on the menu, but she makes me the 'Blendito.' Basically a top-shelf blended margarita chocked full of peppers. Mmmm. Also, the green salsa is my favorite. Just a little bit of spice, but I can kill bowl after bowl of it, for sure.

Food was tasty with good portions and not overpriced. A bit older venue, staff friendly, a bit unorganized but good experience overall

Over priced for the quality My husband had the steak fajitas and while they were hot there was no flavor, no seasoning. They got my order wrong twice. I had the chicken chimichanga and it came out hot and crisp but got soggy fast from sitting in the broth they put on the plate We won't be going back

Top notch Mexican food. I had the chicken enchiladas, I recommend them. Large portions so split it with a friend assuming you're not a malle hi school athlete. $3 coronas for happy hour. I'll be back. The picture I posted was of the children's size, so you can imagine the adult portion.

My husband said the chicken quesadilla was good.

Overpriced not good at all. The staff was great the food was gross. Garlic shrimp was bland and Luke warm. We complained and they brought out a replacement dish, more garlic but still cold. Molchajete was meat and tomato paste not very flavorful. The rice and beans tasted like high school cafeteria food. Fajitas were ok not much to complain about there. The staff was nice and helpful but even the salsa was weird, it had a vinegar aftertaste. Save some cash and go taco bell.

The coleslaw was good but the rest of the food was rather bland! The staff was very friendly 🤗, but the "music" was awful: loud, .(..so loud my three year old grandson put his hands over his ears). It was anything but music.Most of it was just ugly sounds...and we couldn't hear ourselves talk Not to mention tv screens here and there with a lot of writhing humans and other creatures leering out at us.The location was good....right across the road from the ocean, and close to our condo.Sorry we couldn't give a better review!

We were at the shopping center and I just didn't really want to eat food court food but I was hungry. We tried this place and I'm glad I did. The prices were reasonable $15-19 for Maui. The service was excellent. What I liked were the fajitas and the mojete -- I know I'm writing that wrong because I can't remember exactly what it was called. Basically, it was like fajitas in a hot Lava rock bowl. You order two meats. I got the steak and El pastor. It was filling and delicious. Now you have to eat the cactus too 😂. It tastes like artichoke with lime. It adds to the flavor. It was a nice relaxing meal.

I highly recommend this place. Ceviche was supposed to be from the appetizers but I asked to be made a full meal Kristy our waitress was really nice and said she would make it happen. My husbands molcajete de azada was delish and my kids food was also great. One of my daughters asked for shrimp that was an adult size plate, I asked Kristy if she could make it to be kids portion she said no problem. My only negative is the salsa with the chips was not what we're used to, it's different kinds of salsas.

So... there was a blackout on the island for several hours and ALMOST NOBODY in my area had power. Fernando's was open and they HAD power. It didn't dawn on me that other people would have the same idea. I didn't want to cruise the mall to see if other places were open. I was hangry and needed food!!The staff was pressed to the max with hungry people who had nowhere else to go... and all the employees were helpful, smiling, and professional. The food? I've had better from them... but under the circumstances... it was good. Since I couldn't cook anything at home and I couldn't even open my fridge, I'm not complaining.
